What kind of tablet do you use? What kind would you recommend? Is it possible to get a decent tablet at a lower price? Where is the best place to buy one?

I ask because I want to ask for a tablet for Christmas, since I'd really like one but can't afford it myself. But it would be helpful if I had some idea what to look for, so I can give a more accurate description of just what I want. Several years back, I bought a tablet for $50 at Meijer. It wasn't very good. The pen pressure never worked, except for in the program that came with it (which was something I couldn't do much with). And it seemed to lag a lot. I stopped using it because after a while I found that I had an easier time drawing with a mouse, even with all the practice I had with it. So I don't want to end up with the same kind of thing.
