I've been in kind of a Pokemon mood lately. Probably thanks to Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness.

I've had this idea for a while. That is, a Pokemon based off Cerberus, the three-headed dog that guards the gates of the Underworld in Greek mythology. And then it occurred to me that something like that would make a good evolution for Houndoom, since it already has the hellhound thing going on.

So here's the design concept for Houndemon, quickly colored. And since some of the design can't be seen very well (mainly the bone "collar" around its necks), I included the first sketch that I did...except you still can't see it very well now, since my mom's scanner messed it up. x.x; Although, a few things did get changed a bit in the second one.

The heads...look weird. Particularly in the neck area, where they connect to the body. But it's really hard drawing three heads on one body. This is about the third or fourth try. It might have been easier in a front view.

Anyway...
The faux "spine" goes along its entire back and all three necks, connecting to the "skull masks." I wanted the tail to be similar to Houndooms, but still different somehow, so I ended up making it all bones, as an extension of the "spine." It's eyes are supposed to be firey...with actual flames. Which was based on the description of a particular hellhound (I forget which one). But I'm not sure how well I pulled it off...I couldn't get it how I wanted.

So...I figure Houndemon would be a "special" evolution. That is, Houndoom wouldn't evolve just by reaching a certain level. I'm thinking something like trading while holding a certain item. Obviously it's dark/fire type just like it's predecessors. I figure it would be often used as a guard dog, which very few people could get past. Also, it is fiercely loyal and highly protective. In the wild, a pack of Houndour and Houndoom would usually be led by a Houndemon.
